Weight loss resolutions: I am sure you take them before the start of every Christmas. You resolve to lose weight before Christmas knocks on the door, but eventually you notice that instead of shedding some pounds, you have put on some more during Christmas!

Christmas, apart from being the season of joy and mirth, could also be called the season of over-indulgence and overeating. Yeah, I know that is not what Christmas is supposed to be, but that is the way most people seem to think about it. As soon as Christmas hits the door, people cannot wait to gorge on tasty cookies, candies, cakes and other delicacies. It is as if they were waiting for Christmas to arrive so that they could indulge themselves!

If you are like others, I am sure you too indulge yourself every Christmas without thinking about your body weight, and on every Christmas, you gain several inches and pounds. You may take a hundred resolutions to lose weight before Christmas, but chances are that even before you have managed to lose all your previous weight completely, there comes yet another Christmas. And the same cycle begins!

I would bet that you are yet to lose the extra flab you gained three or four years ago! So how do you make sure that you don’t break your resolution this year? How do you make sure that you are truly able to lose weight as you wish? In this article I will tell you about that.

Believe it or not, there is no ‘shortcut’ or ‘secret’ other than the fact that weight loss can be achieved only by following a healthy diet and a regular exercise program; there are NO two opinions on it!

There are several reasons why you should lose weight. Just imagine, won’t you feel happy when you are able to fit yourself in your favorite garments? Won’t you feel ecstatic when your friends and colleagues praise and envy your newly acquired sexy figure? Won’t you be happy when you become more energetic as a result of weight loss?

Believe it or not, weight loss is not too hard. All it needs is a little upfront work from you and you would be able to get rid of fat well before Christmas starts!

At the start of the article I told you that dieting and exercising are the only ways to lose weight. However some people take these methods to the extreme which does more harm than good to their health! For example, dieting doesn’t mean either crash dieting or starving; dieting neither means following ridiculous diet plans where you are made to eat like a mouse. Dieting means eating healthy, cutting down on junk food intake, and eat as much as organic stuff as possible!

When it comes to workouts, you should exercise moderately, especially if you have never worked out before in life! Rigorous and prolonged workouts are neither feasible nor desirable; prolonged workouts could seriously harm your muscles and bones! A better option is to exercise for a few hours everyday, with regular breaks!
